What began in 1946 as a small family business making two signature products has grown into one of Mississippi's trusted food service distributors. Through every season of growth, one thing has remained the same: providing quality products, dependable service, and building relationships that last. It's how Hemphill got its start, and it's why businesses continue to trust us today.

Growing with Mississippi Since 1946.
Hemphill Foods was founded in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1946 by Clyde C. Hemphill Sr. as Hemphill Souse and Sausage. With just two products and a commitment to quality, the company quickly earned a reputation for dependable service.
As the years went on, so did Hemphill. Under the leadership of Clyde C. Hemphill Jr., the business expanded its product offerings, invested in larger facilities, and received USDA approval to distribute products beyond Mississippi. In 2006, Hemphill moved into its current facility on Industrial Drive to better serve a growing customer base, and in 2020, Travis Sledge became the company's owner, continuing a legacy built on quality and service.
While our company has grown over the decades, our purpose has remained remarkably consistent: helping Mississippi businesses succeed by providing the products they need and the service they deserve.
